Memory by Travis
This was the eagle project national anthem growing up. There were about seven or so of us in dad's scout troop getting our eagle about the same time. So for a few weekends, a lot to be honest, we were out somewhere building hitching racks for horses or fixing up the church cabins, or something... We would all pile into the big two seater diesel pickup with the old phone in it, that at the time was really cool, but now it was huge!!! Anyway, we would drive off to wherever we were going and we would all sing this song out loud over and over again. If anyone didn't know the song they were kindly asked to sit in the back, just kidding, but that's how I remember this song. None of us really wanted to be digging holes or whatever on a saturday morning, but regardless, we were going to make it fun no matter the cost. And we did! Dad had a way of doing that. He usually would rather be doing something a little more exciting along with us and when we would start to complain or something he would say his famous "There's a time to play and a time to work. So let's work!" And off we'd follow him, digging the way!!
