Walking in his footsteps

The morning of October 14, we started gathering together as a family after learning about dad's death the morning prior, and traveling all night to get to his home. We spent the day trying to do some of the things dad loved to do. Kipp was still traveling, so we were sad he couldn't be with us for this first day. That afternoon we decided to go for a walk on the canal bank since that was the last thing dad physically did on this earth. We all took one of his hats and wore it on our walk. It was nice being together and enjoying the beauty of "our country home."
